Wedding Wednesday- Dresses

I just loved looking at wedding dresses and deciding which dress I liked the best. My mom and I went shopping for dresses in November. We went to I do Bridal and Formals in Mobile, AL. When Bonnie there asked my style, I showed her pictures in my wedding book. She loved that I was a "fun, out side of the box" bride. She asked my budget, and after telling her, she showed me which area of the store to shop in and which to aviod. I love that she would never have me fall in love with a dress that was outside of my budget. She had me pick 5 and she picked 5. I knew that my dress was going to be in her choices. Especially after I was taking a bit too long and she said, "It's ok, that you're still looking, but YOUR dress in already in there waiting on you. I took off to find the dress to call my own! After trying on the first dress, I was a little disappointed because I didnt "feel" anything. It just felt like I was in a dressing room, trying on a regular dress. I thought something was wrong with me for not being excited any more than I was. Same with the second, although it was a little better. But ohhhhhhh the third. I got a little hot, and little shaky, and couldn't stop smiling. Bonnie was standing in front of me, bless her heart, because I grabbed her shoulders and began shaking her (gently, of course). This was it! I think she thought so too! Ha! This is the one that made my Mama tear up and when my cousin David, that lives in Mobile, came to meet us, made him stop and smile. (David and I have been the closest growing up) The rest that I tried on never gave me the same feeling. This dress is definately outside of the box, like she said before. I was so excited to Say Yes to the Dress!! Of course I can't show you the one, but below are ones that I love as well.

Kimbrough Engagement Party

Julie and David were engaged on Christmas morning. I cried a little when I got the text! I am so excited for these two and honored for Shane and I to both be a part of their special day, as they will be ours. They make you laugh when you are around them because they are so funny and make you smile because they are so sweet. I told them the other night that I knew that Dave was the one for Julie, after seeing them together for a short time. So happy for them and their families.

Their parents hosted an engagement party this weekend, where it was so nice to finally meet his family. Everyone was very nice and fun, just as Julie has always described them.

Shane was working on Sat and Sun so the party was the only time we were able to see each other this weekend.

We had a great time, and I was not ready to leave! Several of the others had to work on Sat so we all had to cut it short. I love a good night catching up and hanging out with friends though! Caden stayed at church until I came back and picked him up. They had the annual derby car race, followed by a lock in. I picked him up about 12, and he was way past tired!

Wedding Wednesday- Photo Inspiration

One thing that we all love to pin on pinterest would be photo ideas. Well, I am no photographer; however, I do like to pin different ideas, or something similiar,  that I would like to have photographed on our wedding day. I think these are such sweet moments and I know that no matter if we use any of these "poses" or not, our photographer will do a wonderful job of catching our own!

I would like to do something like this with either just Caden or maybe Caden and Palyn.

I think this pose is too sweet and fun!

Great MOH shot!

I have to have many sweet shots with my Palyn girl!

Individual wedding party shots! So fun!

Dont you love a passionate shot?

I think this picture is totally cheesy, BUT this is exactly like the stairs I will be coming down and my dad will meet me at the bottom. So I would love to have a shot of him below while I am still upstairs. But never in a million years would I strike that pose!!!

I have been in full wedding mode this week! I am on top of getting my final addresses, setting up meeting with cake lady (date already on her book), working dates for showers, ordering small details and bridesmaids gifts from internet, brainstorming Bridesmaids luncheon, e-mailing about invitation design, but sadly once again left without a caterer. It is so fun, but when I am in planning mode, you might as well not expect anything else from me! My mind is in one place at that moment! I just realized today that I have 5 weddings already this year. A couple of which I am in, including my own. What am I most excited about? Lots of time with old friends and lots of chances to dress up!

I need to know a good wholesale website to order sparklers and cups with our monogram...suggestions?

Prayer Pail

I decided that it is time for me to do more productive things with Caden in the evenings. I have been working on Mary Kay and wedding stuff, but I feel so bad when the only things we do together are homework, eat, his bath, devotion/ Bible story, then bed. I feel like I am not "being" with him enough during the weeknights. We have always been so busy, so I have never found myself in this situation until now. I was deteremined to find something to do today together and scrolled through the never failing "pin board" titled, Caden. We made a "Prayer Pail". This was a simple project that will benefit us and others greatly starting tonight!

We wrote names on popsicle sticks, and each night we will draw one name from the pail and we will pray for God to bless this person and their needs.

I joined Caden and together we wrote the names of family and friends. I am sure we will add to it later. This was mainly aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, close friends and their kids.

Here were a few of the "pins" although we just took the idea and went with it.

Disney Pirates League- Meet Hector Gunskull

As soon as I found out about The Pirates League I knew I had to make our reservations immediately. I also made sure that I scheduled it on the same day as the Halloween Party, that way he could wear his pirate get up all day. You have to reserve a spot at The Pirates League. You can go here to make reservations. You will need to do this right after making reservations for your trip. They fill up fast. You do not have to pay for it until youre there, but you do have to leave a card number to reserve your spot. With the basic package, which is what we did, you get....pirate name, makeup, sword, eye patch, bandana, earring, teeth, and sash. We picked up this costume at Wal Mart for about $20.  It was such a great experience. I would recommend it for boys, and girls that may be too old for princesses.

Spinning to get his pirate name

adding his name, Hector Gunskull, to the book

You also get this certificate!

With Pirate Goofy

We had to let him take a nap in his pirate make up and costume. We were sure to touch it up before the Halloween party that night, though! Mama paid close attention to her special pirate make up techniques!
