Happy Valentines Day!

I hope everyone is enjoying their day! We celebrated our Valentines Day this weekend with Shane. On Friday night, Shane was already gone to work when we got there. So Caden and I grabbed Chic-fil-a and hung around the house. On Saturday morning, we woke up to sweet suprises! Shane is so good at suprising us!! Keep it up, babe! ;)

We took a quick run in the freezing cold, and then took our time getting ready to go to dinner. We relaxed on the couch watching The Rise of the Planet of the Apes ending our night. Sunday morning, we went to church then Belk. Shane worked a little while, then came home to his little prizes!!
Golf ball chocolates from Caden and the cheesy Parrot from me, along with sweet cards!
(I know one day, Ill get tired of the parrot thing but right now it is still new and fun!)
And before I knew it.... it was the dreaded Monday morning departure. I hate Mondays now when I have to head back to our hometown. I am trying to stay positive and busy, making the week fly by! About 4 months remaining.

Caden's class celebrated last Friday. Couldn't possibly get those little love bugs wired up in the middle of the week!

The church is coming over tonight to have an activity with the apartment kids, I know they will all have a great time and learn a little more about Jesus' LOVE for them!!

Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance ... love will last forever! (NLT)1 Corinthians 13:4–8a

In Bible study, a couple of months ago, we talked about how we should replace the word LOVE in the verse with our name and ask ourselves if we could honestly say those things. I would probably have to work on a few of these... try it yourself and challenge yourself! Here is my example...

Brittany is patient and kind. Brittany is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. Brittany does not demand its own way. Brittany is not irritable, and Brittany keeps no record of being wronged. Brittany does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Brittany never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance ... love will last forever!

I hope you all have a wonderful Valentines Day with your lovies!! <3

Our Love Story- Valentines Day Link Up

Linking up with From Mrs. to Mama

1. How long have you and your significant other been together?

Wait for it.....11 months on the 19th! Def one of those, "when you know, you know" things!
2. How did you meet? {What's your "love" story?}
I have actually never written how we met. After Caden and I had finally gotten back on our feet from a long streak of things falling apart, I wanted nothing to enter our lives and mess us up! We had a safe place to live and a secure job, I planned to be here for many years to come. I jokingly asked a lady from my church that I admire, "if she had any more sons?" She had three sons that I had heard nothing but good things about. She laughed and then proceeded to tell me about her nephew that was the closest thing to her sons. She wasn't kidding, Shane went on family vacations and spent many summers at her home with her boys. She told me all about him, most importantly that he wanted a family. He had never been married and had no kids. We ended up going out on our first date a few weeks after talking on the phone. He brought me flowers. Seeing his chemistry with Caden after a few dates, confirmed my desire of a future with him.

Our First Date :)
3. If married, how long have you been married? If not, is this the guy you hope to marry? {do tell}
We are getting married on June 16 this year! Only about 4 more months!

4. If you are married, where did you get married at? Big or small wedding? If not, where would you like to get married? And will it be big or small?
We are getting married at The Elms in Coosada, AL. I posted about it here. It will be between 200-300. I am so excited and can not wait!!

under the moss trees, minus the water hose:)
5. Do you have any nick-names that you call one another? Do share!

Shaney boo or Shaney Love, Love bug, Hunny Bunny, Baby Love
6. Name 3 things you love most about your honey.
Only 3???
Ok, the first is the way he is with Caden. Caden is so excited about having Shane as his Dad. It makes me so happy every time I see them playing and spending time together!!

The second, would be how supportive he is in everything I want or do. He makes me feel like everything that is important to me is important to him. I looove that about him!!:) I am never nervous to talk to him about anything!

The 3rd would be how much fun he is. I would never be able to be with someone that didnt make me laugh or like to have a good time with me. He is very silly with me, although he may not come off like he would be!!

7. Tell us how he proposed? Or your ideal proposal?

He proposed at Disney World in front of the castle during Wishes! You can read about it here.

8. Is he a flowers and teddy bear kind of guy for v-day, or strawberries, champagne, and rose petals?
For now, def a flowers and bear (or Reese's!!:)) Maybe after were married a while, he may try to shake it up a bit with  the other ;) We actually celebrated this weekend, since we wont be together on Vday.

My roses from Shane

Caden's card, candy, and $10
9. Are you a sunset dinner on the beach kind of girl, or pop a movie in and relax on the couch?
Both! We love the beach! And any opportunity to be romantic, Ill take it! But the movie on the couch is an every weekend desire for me!

About to parasail!

Relaxing!
10. Tell us one thing you'd like to do with your significant one day. If you could do anything? Go anywhere?
I want to go to NYC at Christmas time very badly! It seems like it would be so romantic!
11. Tell us what you plan on doing on this Valentine's Day.
We went to dinner and exchanged cards, candy and flowers for me!:)
12. Are you asking for anything this Valentine's day?
Nope got all I wanted, time. Dont mean to sound cheesy!
13. Give us one piece of advice of keeping a relationship strong and full of love.
I would say communication is a top priority in a relationship. You can't go very far without it!!
Also, the piece of advice that I hold closest would be.. if you work on your relationship with God then everything else will fall into place.
14. Show us a picture of what love means to you.

Busy Busy...

We have been so busy the past two weeks! I can hardly wait for this weekend to be a little lazy! Shane is working and aside from a Vday dinner and church, I think Caden and I will be spending it in jammies. I know, you must be envious! I wanted to share a little about what has been keeping us so busy.

Tata and Palyn made there trip here last Monday.
They were both able to meet and love on sweet baby Coleman.
I love this picture of the three of them!

Palyn usually stays right around Caden, even if he is on his game.

She is sooooo into dressing up right now! She repeats "Im a princess!" We are all in trouble! Caden loved dressing up when he was little too! He actually still does some. When he was 3-7 it was a different superhero everyday, batman, spiderman, captian america, power ranger, superman. It recently turned into Darth Vader and light sabers. I am not exaggerating. We would always get them on clearence after Halloween. We do the same for her. She loves it just as much! What a great imaginantion those two have!

I am so into my Mary Kay now!! It took me a good year to get warmed up, but I am now on fire!! I am in love with this company! We get prizes all of the time! I just got this purse last week! I have also gotten earrings and a necklace without even trying hard! I cant wait to see what is next now that I have started putting forth effort!! This month, anyone that listens to the Mary Kay opportunity, 20-30 mins, get their name put in a drawing for a free Coach bag. You also get a free lipgloss! Wouldn't you like to listen for a chance?

I went shopping a little last Friday night at Belk and got these adorable rain boots along with some brown wedge boots. Sale, yes. I have always wanted rain boots, but didnt want ones that looked like everyone else's. I loved these pretty preppy ones, and they have about every color on them, so you couldn't go wrong! I was excited that it would be raining the next day, so I wore them. Yeah, it didn't rain until late that night! Ha! Oh well, they were fun!

On Saturday, I attended a women's conference at a local church. The theme was Beauty from Ashes, and it was very good and beautifully put together. I enjoyed the speakers, the decor, and the food. You ladies did a fantastic job putting this together! Your hard work was noticed and appreciated!!

On Sunday, we went to the new church that we have been attending and I am LOVING it!! The messages are so easy and good, and the worship is great too! I still miss my home church FBC Oak Grove, although they are very different. I cant wait to see what God has in store for our new family at Centerpoint. After church, Shane, Caden, Emmie, and I attended a small Bridal show in Montgomery. I have to find a caterer, and wanted to use someone local to avoid travel fees. I didn't have much luck, so I am working out a few things right now to hopefully have one soon.

Can I please have an iPhone just for Instagram and Red Stamp?

Caden and I have been taking a 10 min walk around the complex in the mornings before school. I read that it is supposed to help the kids focus at school that day. He was excited to see dandilions out one morning. Cutie Pie! When he came home from school this day, I had to take a step back and look at him. I swear it seemed as if he had grown a foot at school that day. Wow, he is so tall! We also had a breakdown one afternoon because of a new rule that was put into place this week. "No DS on school days, only on the weekend" Love Always, Mama. You would seriously think he was dying. That is what I am hoping to break a little by this rule, his obsession.

I spent time one afternoon helping Caden put together these Vday treats for his class. There were so many cute ideas floating around pinterest, but this one seemed the easiest, most affordable, and most age appropriate for him. You can find my pin here.

My church, FBCOG, asked me a few weeks ago if they could come over to the complex and have a craft, snack, and story with the kids every Tuesday afternoon. I, of course, thought this was a great thing to do, and am thankful for a loving, serving church family.

And today is my beautiful Mama's birthday! We sent her this picture this morning to wake up to on her special day!! We love you!!

Hope my past two weeks weren't too boring for you to sit through! I like to document the little events of our everyday lives as well! Have a great weekend!

How Sweet....

is my love for letting me put this pink heart on his our front door?

Notice the houndstooth bow. That is Alabama football's thing, and I figured it was the least I could do. Leaving it, you know, since he is letting me put a huge pink heart on the door that has always been his bachelor pad!! It was made by a friend that I have known for a long time. She is also making us something for Easter. Either a cross, carrott, or egg! Thank you baby love, for understanding my neeeed to be festive, no matter how small the holiday may be!!
