Centerpoint VBS 2012

This past week was Vacation Bible School at Centerpoint, the new church we have been attending. I volunteered to help and not even knowing me they put me with kindergarteners! I love those babies! If I went back to school, I would want to teach Kindergarten. Here are a few pics from our week...

This is one of the first friends that I made here in our new town, Amber.
She ended up teaching Caden's group.

In Kid Central, which is what they call the children's church on Sundays, they watch a character named "Skittles". He raps about Gods love and the kids loooove him! Skittles was kind of the main theme of the week and the kids were thrilled to see him there everyday!

This is Skittles motto and was on the back of our shirts!

I know that the kids all had a great time and learned a lot. I enjoyed meeting new people and loving on the children! I am now volunteering in the 3-4 yr olds every Sunday. Our family will attend the 9:30 service and then I will work and Caden will go to Kid Central during the 11:00. It seems to all be fitting together! One of the things that I love about this church is that not everyone knows everyone, so I was under the impression that I would be the new lady coming in and would have to find my place. Totally not the case. Everyone else there is still meeting new people everyday too, so it makes it a little more comfortable! Not that I have ever had a problem meeting anyone ;)

Wedding Wednesday- Our Music

Music was one of the hardest parts for me. I actually didnt decide until the week of the wedding. Thankfully, we had an awesome and understanding DJ that was able to put it together wonderfully. We used Ricky Ruston from Shelby County based on the recommendation of my friend, Julie. He was very professional and affordable. He played the music for our ceremony and reception and also included the special lighting for dancing. Here are the songs that we chose....

During guests seating this played on of my favorite worship songs-

Parents and Grandparents seating-

Typical wedding party entrance-

And for the Bride-

We did not have a unity candle, but chose to have our first communion together as a family, including Caden. We also spent this time praying together for our family.
This song playing during that time -

The chorus of this song played during our exit as a family-

Wedding party Reception Entrance-

Our first dance-

The only song I wasnt completely sold on was our parent's dance, it was short and sweet-

That about sums up our music! We played other fun songs during the reception that I was happy with. Many people affirmed our music choices with their sweet compliments after the wedding! This review has def made me miss our day :)

Lacey's Beach Weekend

A few girlfriends and I made our way down to Panama City this past weekend looking for nothing more than relaxation before Lacey's wedding. I am pretty sure that we wished a little too hard, because it rained the entire first day! Friday morning, we had breakfast at a small bakery, called Andy's. SO so good! I had never been there before, but it will def be a "go to" place everytime I go back. That entire day, we did nothing but lay around and nap while it rained. The other girls didnt mind that with all three of their noses buried in 50 shades. Finally, we headed out for dinner at a place called the Capt's Table. We had about an hour wait and then I tried amberjack for the first time. I am trying to branch out, yall! I just started liking seafood period, so I am trying something new each time! We were able to end the night with a trip down to the hot tub and a little too chatty security guard!

The prize I brought for Lacey!
Brides Magizine, Bride Wars, and a couple of ring pops

Crystal, Kiki, and I at dinner
(no, we didnt bother fixing up on this day!)

On Sat, we were so happy to see the sun out!

Silly me!

We spent the entire day at the pool, especially since the beach looked like this....
full of seaweed!!

We went up and got ready for dinner later that evening.
This is what they looked like the entire time!!

Lacey is getting married in two weeks! She refused to wear any of the gear I brought for her to wear!

Kiki and Lacey

When I was taking their pictures, Lacey kept asking me for just "headshots".
I gave her a headshot.

I love taking random pictures!

We had dinner at the Back Porch.
We are so wild, I am pretty sure you couldn't handle us!
We headed home after dinner!

On Sunday, we spent a few more hours at the pool before heading home. This was a wonderful relaxing girls weekend! Now, I have to squeeze into my bridesmaids dress for her wedding ekkkkk!!

Biscuits Baseball

The Montgomery Biscuits. Biscuits, I thought there must be something more, that I am not catching! Like a biscuit that we eat? I never asked, didn't want to sound as blonde as I do now. But yes, sure enough. As soon as we arrived at the stadium, I am faced with a logo of a breakfast biscuit with butter in it's mouth. While I haven't bothered to look it up or ask anyone else, feel free to enlighten me on the history of this Biscuits thing!!

Big Mo below, would be the teams mascot described as a "biscuit eating beast"!

Our family went to enjoy a basball game on a Friday night, which "just so happened" to be dollar night ;) and fireworks night. Score!! Two birds. One stone. "Thanks mom, you're the greatest!":) (sometimes I say that to myself!)
3 sprites, 3 hot dogs, and 3 nachos

Thanks for carrying almost all of it, Dad!

We sat on the lawn on a blanket that we brought from home.

This was the most fun game I have ever been to. The baseball players threw out biscuits during the game.

They had a baby crawling race. So cute!

Had a couple of these...

Which led to this ...

Then we enjoyed the fireworks and headed home!
It was very nice to have this so close to home for easy Friday night entertainment!:)

Wedding Wednesday- The Cakes

I loved the look of the 3 cakes. I think they were, as my cake lady said, "the different look, without being too overboard". My step mother and grandmother, Helen, added the flowers and the backdrop.

Loved them!
2 were wedding cake flavor and one was strawberry.

The mercury/silver candle holders were my star prize from Mary Kay and the jeweled photo clips were a Cmas gift from my Aunt Karen and Uncle Joe.
We used them to add a few baby photos of us.

This is the best pic I can find right now of his golfing grooms table.

We removed the "cake" sign before the ceremony began.
The siver vase in the middle is full of tees, they were also on the table.

I thought this was too funny!
His was chocolate.

This bronze statue sits in our living room. He has had it and a matching elephant (Bama) since he moved in the house.

Moss monogram above his table

basket full of golf balls

Our cakes tasted fabulous and as most weddings have a ton of cake left over, we did not! We were able to bring our top layer home and a little to share and eat during the week!

Blogger 411

Today I am linking up with "FROM MRS. TO MAMA" for a bloggy 411!

1. How long have you been blogging? And what got you started on blogging? Has your blog changed?
-I began blogging in the spring of 2010, so right around 2 years. I am still writing about our days like I intended. I sometimes wish I had more to time to write about my random thoughts, because those posts are usually the best. However, I do good just to stay on top of everything else we have going on. Right now I am about 2 weeks behind, which makes for not such a good blogging buddy. But it is mainly just for my memories!

2. Did you go to college? If so where, and what did you study?
-I took a year of basics following high school. But then I had the grand idea of my best friend and I taking the 1 year cosmetology course and being done with school. I mean, I liked to get dressed up and do hair and make up so why not? WRONG! I finished, found myself working in a salon, sweating bullets for a few months, praying the client DIND'T choose me to do their hair, due to my lack of confidence. I continued waitressing and attempted to go back for a few more classes. Now I am actually somewhat using my cosmetology as a Mary Kay consultant. BEST JOB EVER.

3. Where have you traveled?
-Our family vacations as a child were always to the beach (Florida). But in jr high and high school, thanks to my church youth and choir tours, I was able to visit almost every state in the US with the main destinations being; The Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, and Niagra Falls. Very Thankful for those years and opportunities to share God's love across the US. Most recently, we took our honeymoon a little north of Cancun, La Playa Mujeres. AMAZING.

4. If you won the lottery, what would be the first thing you would buy?
- I would def spend the majority of mine on mission trips. Of course I would have a lot of fun with it too, but international mission trips have always been a dream of mine. I hope to take one soon!!

5. What are your 3 biggest pet peeves?
1- to hear someone chew. (chips, cereal, etc.)
2- moms putting children behind their lifestyle. If you are a mom, be one.
3- people calling me "perfect", gets my blood boiling.... just because I try to live right? I have been called this by family and friends both and it kills me.

6. What is your favorite movie?
-couldn't breathe during Bridesmaids from laughing so hard

7. What is your drink of choice; wine, beer, or liquor. Or Water, Soda, Tea?
- sweet wines..moscato or white zin and water

8. What is something you enjoy to do when you have me time?
-mani/pedi, blog, shop

9. If you could have a $10,000 shopping spree to one store, which store would it be?
-easy...TJ Maxx or Target

10. Share with us an embarrassing moment of your past? Or present.
- the most recent was with my best friend Julie, we were heading to my rehearsal dinner and she was talking about how the rain was moving away from our area. I excitedly told her that she should not be in pharmacy school, that she should become a radiologist. Clearly meaning meteorologist. We both laughed so hard. I wasnt even thinking, I just said it!!

11. What day would you love to relive again?
-WEDDING DAY! the best day!!

12. If your life was turned into a movie... what actor would play you?
- not too sure, but the moms I love the most are Elizabeth Hassleback and Kelly Ripa

13. What are the jobs you had in high school/college/the early years?
-first job ever was a "tea girl" at a local restuarant. We took drink orders and made rounds re filling drinks the entire night. We were paid min. wage and I was 14 years old. Throughout the years I also served at Golden Rule BBQ (managed there too), Buffalo Wild Wings (favorite job ever, after Mary Kay) and The Back Nine, a bar in Birmingham. I substituted school during those years as well, loved that. And most recently left my job as as apartment manager, loved that as well.

14. Show us a picture from high school or college.
Jr Prom-2004

15. If you could travel anywhere in the world, all expenses paid, where would you go?
-First thought before even reading Becky's post was Bora Bora!

-Venice would be nice too!

16. Show us the most current picture of you or you, or your family, or anything of meaning to you.
Our first day as a family
17. Where do you see your life 5 years from now?
-As a Top Mary Kay Sales Director! Hopefully with a baby or two!

Hope you all enjoyed learning a little more about me! Cant wait to read a few more about others!!

Our 4th of July

On our 4th of July, we went to spend the day swimming with Shane's family.

After a wonderful day and great food, we went to the Lake Martin Amphitheater to watch fireworks. They also had a stage set up with a great band and fun contests.

We rode this golf cart shuttle there from our truck and Caden insisted on riding in the very back.

Bless Shane, I kept laughing at him for wearing his cut off shirt!!
He wears these around the house and to cut grass in!
The weather was great that evening, it was not too hot and there was a great breeze.

Waiting on the firework show!

After the fireworks, a lot of people were leaving. But the band kept playing, so we all hung out a while longer and let the traffic die down! We went down and danced a bit in front of the stage.

Caden and Shelton kept eye-ing these two pretty girls. They offered to take a pic with them and Caden took off!!

I was loving the cute singer's outfit! So festive!

I really enjoyed this 4th with our family! It was something I would def like to do again next year!:)

I wrote out all of our "Thank You's" here...didnt want you to think I forgot the reason for the holiday!
