K Play Day!

I remember one of the most fun days in elementary school was Field Day! Starting at the beginning of the year, we always looked forward to this day (along with the play for the year and of course, the field trips!)

This year, Caden's school had a kindergarten play day. It was the same as our field day minus the dunking booth, which I'm sure more than a few of us were wishing we were in!
My sister, Calan and my cousin, Allanah were able to come and help us work at the play day. Allanah and I were assigned to the face paintings. I will admit that I was a little nervous about this, because I am not a very artistic person! The last time I painted faces was when the cheerleaders painted them at the fall festival! We did realize that Q-tips worked way better than paint brushes, although I'm sure that the face painting regulars were already aware of that! Here is some of our artwork!
Bless them! You can just tell how hot they all were!

I will admit that I was a little proud of my butterfly!!

Allanah and Elizabeth..
Wait, I thought Allanah was an Auburn fan!!

Calan was in the tattoo and bubble station

I was excited to see some of the same games that we played at our field days,
as in the three legged race, tug a war, potato sack race, and some relays!!

The three-legged race

Then they picked flowers for the best teacher,
Mrs. Buttram!

Next year, I don't think they will have a "play day". The first and second graders have AR celebrations and get to go to the park for fun activities.
We better get those AR points!!

Mama - Caden Days

This is obviously what we call the days that Caden and I have together just the two of us, no friends, no family, just Mama and her little superhero. We have these days pretty often. At least one every other weekend. Yes... it should be more, but we are always on the go!

This past Saturday was a Mama- Caden Day! We woke up and went to Caden's friend Chance's t-ball game. They have one of the best teams and it was so cute to watch the little ones that really knew how to play!! We are crossing our fingers that Chance will make All- Stars!!

Watching Chance play!
(and thanking God that he didn't play this year!)

Then, we went swimming at our friend's house. They are out of town and offered for us to swim while they were gone! Caden has known how to swim since he was 4 by himself . I am very proud of him for that, not to mention it takes off a huge amount of stress around the pool!  We practiced our swimming strokes. I was on the swim team when I was in elementary school and think it would be cool for him to know all of the strokes. He was saying, "Are you teaching me to swim like a grown up?"!

He has had this little froggy towel
since he was about 3 years old!!

Then we chased this little guy around the deck!

Caden wanted to spend a little bit of his graduation
money, and this is one thing he decided on!
Spiderman!

One thing that he got from Ms. Polly and his
TaTa was a dinosaur egg that you put in water for
three days and it then grew and cracked through the shell.

Army Ants, Lady Bugs, and Fireflies

This is what the kindergarteners were at the
Indian Valley graduation program last week!

The school had a program everyday last week after Monday. I was so thankful that they broke it down to only 3 classes at a time! It made it a lot smoother and not as lengthy! I was also glad that the program made it less emotional for us parents!! We were able to laugh and admire our little ones, rather than cry and be reminded of what big boys and girls they are now! I held all of my tears until the end!! Caden had a part that said, "That's all folks, It don't mean a thang, if you ain't got that stang!" It was of course one that made everyone laugh!!
Big boy with his diploma!

He also got the Most Creative award!

This was their class cake for the parent's reception.

When I Get Where I'm Going..

When I get where I'm going
on the far side of the sky.
The first thing that I'm gonna do
Is spread my wings and fly.

I'm gonna land beside a lion,
and run my fingers through his mane.
Or I might find out what it's like
To ride a drop of rain

Yeah when I get where I'm going,
there'll be only happy tears.
I will shed the sins and struggles,
I have carried all these years.

And I'll leave my heart wide open,
I will love and have no fear.
Yeah when I get where I'm going,
Don't cry for me down here.

I'm gonna walk with my grandaddy,
and he'll match me step for step,
and I'll tell him how I missed him,
every minute since he left.
Then I'll hug his neck

So much pain and so much darkness,
in this world we stumble through.
All these questions, I can't answer,
so much work to do.

But when I get where I'm going,
and I see my Maker's face.
I'll stand forever in the light,
of His amazing grace.

Yeah when I get where I'm going,

Yeah when I get where I'm going,

there'll be only happy tears.

Hallelujah!

I will love and have no fear.

When I get where I'm going.

Yeah when I get where I'm going.

Tomorrow...

..This baby boy
Will be doing this...
Yesterday, I gave him this to have signed by all of his Kindergarten classmates..
He was actually more excited about it than I expected! He said "Can he be a toy?" I said, "Well we are gonna have all of your friends in your class sign it first" Then he slept with it! In mommy's bed of course!
(I really have to stop allowing that!!)

He has really made me proud this year! It has been such an experience for us! I am nervous, but excited about 1st grade. It is definately going to be an adjustment for all of us!! Real homework and real test, no naps and no shoe tying by the grown ups! I have faith in my little superman! He will be fine! The other day I said, "Caden, it's almost time for first grade and it's going to be really different from kindergarten, but I know you can do it because you're such a smart boy." He replied, "Yes maam, but whats 60,000 + 60,000 just in case?" How can you not just looooove him?!!

Sweet Summertime

...is what we got a taste of this weekend! Friday night, we had Bunko at Jala's house. I did not win anything, but half the time I forget that it's even possible to win anything! We have so much fun and I am still so excited that we are able to play again!
Some of our members were unable to make it, and they were greatly missed!
My blogging buddy, Jenn Green and I!

Saturday and Sunday, we spent the day at a friend's house with a ton of other kids!! I just lovin being around kids! I am the mom that always wants the other kids at her house! (that doesn't mean I don't need a break too though!)
Getting into the billion water balloons that
I spent so long filling up here!!
Just a few!!...I didnt mean to cut off her head!!

I have to leave you with a picture of the Best Man!!

Already??

I have been thinking today about every single moment with my baby boy since I learned that I was pregnant at 16 years old. I feel as if I have grown up with him. And while we might not always want this to be the story of our first child, I am thankful for every little up and down I have had as a young mother. God has truley blessed me and I thank Him with every ounce of my being. He has the perfect plan for us in the years ahead and I am looking forward to spending them with my #1 man that has himself, taught me many things about life. Whether it be just the two of us, or joined with a partner, I am going to savor every sweet moment! This next Wednesday, my baby boy will be graduating Kindergarten. I have tried not to think about how he isn't a "baby" anymore. Trying to only think of the joys that he will continue to bring me forever. But, he will always be my baby!! (and you all know I cried looking at these pictures!)

Sweet Shop!

On Saturday, Caden and I went to a "Sweet Shop" birthday party! This adorable party had all the sweet and sugary candy you could imagine set up for all of us to fill our goody bags with and take home! Now for those of you that know Mr. Caden, you might be thinking, "He does NOT need any more sugar or energy!" But he is only 6 once and we had funnn!! We spent the rest of the day swimming and relaxing in the sun! It was a good Saturday!

He loooves cotton candy!

The cute candy shop table!

Filling it on up!!

He did not even take a break to slide!!

Muffins for Me!!

...(and other moms!) Friday, Caden's class had a celebration for all of their moms! Have I ever mentioned how blessed I am to have a great job and wonderful boss that allows me to attend all of the things that are important to me?! The class had little muffins that they actually served to their moms themselves! It was great! I know Caden loves when I come in his classroom, it is written all over his precious little face! The class performed two songs for us!

The songs had cute motions that most of them showed us!

Then they gave us our Mother's Day gifts and told us, "Happy Mother's Day"
They also made the greatest "All About Mom" book!
I will probably upload pictures of this sweet little book!
