Traveling Light and Stepping up

So my weekend wasn't great, but I can promise you that I'm on to the bigger and better things that God has planned in my life! I will begin with these two things as starters!
This is the devotional that I started yesterday with a ladies Bibe study at FUMC. I am looking so foward to it!

And this!
My Nanda recommended this book about 1 month ago,
and I finally got my hands on a copy!

I haven't forgotten my blessings!

My family!

My new little place!

and I have a great job!

From my Becca Baby:
One of the best things you can say to yourself when you are tempted to get discouraged is, "This, too, shall pass. It is not going to last forever. The clouds will dissipate one day, and I will see the godness of God again in my life."Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting ...covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth. Genesis 9:16

On this Beautiful Friday..

I went to lunch with my mom, sweet baby Palyn, Ms. Polly, and her sweet friend Renee. We went to Dale's Southern Grill, and I am usually not a big fan of homecooking, but it was really really good!
I know she looks like she would be my sister!

Ms. Palyn liked the homecooking!!

But she didn't want a picture with her BrittBritt!

This little boy,
(that by the way has a personality bigger than he can handle!)
got a smiley face at school today!

And THIS is what he got!!

Tonight I have Bunkos, which is the most fun dice game ever! We always have so much fun when we play! We used to play once a month, but the group ended and we just started one back up last month! I am so glad to have that one night a month back!!

I really hope I get one of these!!
Lord knows I really need it!!

One other thing I am super excited about... Our softball team, Peking Garden, won their first game last night of the season! I am so proud for these girls!! They honestly deserved it!!

This is Macy! She was excited!!

So a few of the girls, along with the parents, went to eat at the restaraunt that sponsors our team!
Peking Garden
Hope everyone has a great weekend! Hopefully we in Sylacauga won't be blown away in the storm!

Lady A

I just have to make it known that I am in love with this band!! Sugarland has always been my favorite band, but these guys are rising quickly to my top spot!! Every song that they have either relates to me somehow, or just puts me in a great mood! I know you are all familiar with the songs out so far, if not you have missed out! You can't help but love: "Love Dont Live Here Anymore", "Lookin for a Good Time", "Run to You", "Need you Now", and "American Honey". I am going to be able to see them (along with many others) at the CMA festival in Nashville this June with Tim's brother, Ben. I am super excited about this festival!! They will also be with Tim McGraw here in Birmingham in May. Right now, the song that I am loving the most hasn't come out on the radio yet. It is called, "I Was Here". Here are the lyrics, it definately sums up the way I've been feeling for about a year now! I'm sure many others my age can relate to these lyrics as well. I just feel like I am meant to be so much more than what I am right now. I do know that God has a great plan for me and I will succeed in whatever it is I am meant to do with Him guiding the way!

I Was Here

You will notice me
I’ll be leaving my mark
Like initials carved in an old oak tree
You wait and see

Maybe I’ll write like Twain wrote
Maybe I’ll paint like Van Gogh
Cure the common cold… I don’t know
But I’m ready to start ‘cause I know in my heart

I wanna do something that matters
Say something different
Something that sets the whole world on its ear
Wanna do something better
With the time I’ve been given
I wanna try
To touch a few hearts in this life
And leave nothing less than something that says
I was here

I will prove you wrong
If you think I’m all talk
You’re in for a shock ‘cause this dreams too strong
Before too long
Maybe I’ll compose symphonies
Maybe I’ll fight for world peace
‘Cause I know it’s my destiny
to leave more than a trace of myself in this place

I know that I will do more than just pass through this life
I’ll leave nothing less than something that says
I was here

The Most Beautiful Girl...

in the Whole Wide World...

Meet Palyn Michelle Rogers!

I only wish she was mine!!

She is Ryan's baby (sister).
I fall in love everytime I see her!

She has a wonderful personality!
She is always laughing and smiling!

She loves her cousin Caden, and he loves her too!!

Hope she brightened your day as much as she does ours!

She's 10 months old,
and we can't believe what a BIG girl she is!!

Sliddin' & Swimmin'

So Baylie's softball league had a "sliding practice" on Friday night! The girls were instructed to wear old clothes, and we soon found out why!!!
Although the girls learned the correct technique for sliding in softball, they had a BLAST playing in the mud!!
Then they chased (and pretty much attacked) Kevin Varner, the coach that put this activity together!

I am so glad that they had this much fun and hopefully learned something from it!!
I must now show you who else got in on the fun!
(not shocking!)
Before

After

Also this weekend, we moved a little into our duplex apartment. Tonight will be the first night Caden and I will be staying there! Prayers please! My sister Calan went to her Jr. Prom and looked really pretty!

Caden and Baylie got their first taste of summer when they went swimming at a friend's house!

Baylie discovered what she would like for Christmas this year!! A mini bike!

And lastly, Sat night Baylie had her best friends spend the night for the last time before I move out. I honestly enjoy the time that she and I spend together, and I hope that we can continue to do so. She is a great young lady. As for the movie, "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" I have to admit that I was disappointed. It was one of those that shows all of the funny parts in the previews. The kids did enjoy it and that's all that really matters! Sunday night we watched "Law Abiding Citizen" and it was definatley a great movie! Hope everyone else had a wonderful weekend!

Diary of a Wimpy Kid

So I have seen the previews for this movie twice in the theater, and I laughed so hard and told myself that I must take the kids to see this movie!! Sadly, I do believe that I am more excited about it than they are!! I will not be updating on the weekends, so I will let you all know on Monday if "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" is as great as I am hoping it will be!! Have a great weekend!!

The New Girl

So I have decided that I have waited long enough, it is time for a blog of my own! Not too sure how much time I will have for updating, and I am definitely not a very creative person, or a good writer, but I can't help it! Every picture and every day with Caden has a story to tell! Caden and I are beginning a new chapter in our lives starting next week therefore, the timing seems about right! The hard part is figuring out where to start..I mean, do I give you a background or just start fresh? Caden and I are moving into a small duplex apartment this weekend, a place for just the two of us. He is my everything, I don’t know what I would ever do without my wonderful baby boy! I am going to make it through the tough times with his silly smiling face and the strength I’m getting from the Lord. I will blog about all of the hilarious things he does to keep me laughing!! His pictures will also be a handsome addition to my cute new page! This that I got from one of my best friends, Rebecca, has been helping me through my tough times lately. “I’ve learned by now to be quite content whatever my circumstances. I’m just as happy with little as with much, with much as with little. I’ve found the recipe for being happy whether full or hungry hands, hands full or hands empty. Whatever I have, wherever I am, I can make it through anything with God, who makes me who I am” Philippians 4:11-13 By the way, I am a lyric, Bible verse, quote kinda person!! Once something speaks to me, it sticks and I love it!! If you’re reading this, I hope you enjoy the adventures of a Christian, young, single mama and the most wonderful son I could’ve asked for!
